RATE CARD

What Meta charges in India

Meta prices the category, not the message. Marketing costs 7.5 times what utility costs, which is the single biggest lever on your bill.

Add 18% GST on top. Volume tiers exist but start at 25,000,000 utility messages a month, so almost no Indian D2C brand reaches them.

MARKUPS

What a markup costs when a platform adds one

Only the Meta line is shown here. Subscription fees are left out on purpose, because a markup can only hide in the per-message line.

Competitor rates are each vendor’s own published figure, applied only to the line that vendor publishes a rate for.

CALCULATOR

Run it on your own volume

Nothing is gated and nothing is sent anywhere. It is Meta’s rate card doing the multiplication.

What your WhatsApp month costs in India

Put in a month's volume and see Meta's bill at 0% markup, then the same month on the two markups competitors publish.

Marketing templates10,000 at ₹0.8631₹8,631
Utility templates10,000 at ₹0.1150₹1,150
Service replies4,000 billable after 1,000 free, at ₹0.1150₹460
Meta bill at 0% markupEx GST, billed by Meta to your own account₹10,241
With 18% GSTWhat lands on the invoice₹12,084
Add a published service markupAiSensy charges ₹0.1450 a service reply against Meta's ₹0.1150, a 26.1% markup on that line+₹120
Add a published marketing markupDondy's India rate of $0.01888 is about ₹1.38 a message against Meta's ₹0.8631, about 60% above the card+₹5,179

At this volume Meta's own bill is ₹10,241 before GST. A platform that marks up the service line adds ₹120 a month and one that marks up the marketing line adds ₹5,179, on top of whatever it charges for the software.

Meta India rates read off Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform pricing documentation on 21 October 2026, competitor rates off each vendor’s own published pricing page on the same day. Rupee conversions of USD rates are indicative. Volume tiers are ignored here because utility tiers start at 25,000,000 messages a month. Your own rate card in Meta Business Manager is the only number that will match your invoice.

VERIFY IT

The ten-minute test that settles any 0% claim

Ours included. It is the only check that does not depend on a vendor being honest with you.

  1. Take one month. Open the per-conversation total on your platform invoice.
  2. Open Meta Business Manager. Find the same total for the same date range.
  3. Compare them. They match: your platform passes Meta through at cost. The platform line is higher: the difference is the markup, and now you know its size. You cannot produce the comparison because you buy credits: that is its own answer.
